Job Summary: Accurately obtains medication histories from patients located within the quick-pace Emergency Department at Mission Hospital and then enters the history into the electronic medical record. Requires timely, efficient and courteous communication with patients, prescribers, nurses and other pharmacy team members. Also requires consultation with patients' community pharmacy and/or outpatient providers. Attention to detail and accuracy required.

Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education: Associate's degree in Pharmacy Technology

Required License: Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire AND Active status as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (as credentialed by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board)

Preferred License: None

Required Experience: At least 2 years of pharmacy technician experience within a retail pharmacy setting or comparable experience.

Preferred Experience: At least 4 years of pharmacy technician experience

This position is eligible for an evening shift differential of $2.75/hour.
