Role Summary: Provides leadership for and overall direction/planning/evaluation of Mission Hospital's operating suites and interventional platform perianesthesia services including Mission Hospital Operating Room Services, Perianesthesia Department, Asheville Surgery Center, Sterile Processing Department, Surgical Services Business Support and Surgical Services Quality. Directs these departments in alignment with Mission Hospital's strategic plan. Elements may be accomplished by other leadership but the Executive Director retains responsibility and accountability. The Executive Director promotes research and integrates evidence-based practice into clinical, operational, logistical, and leadership processes.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

Required Education: Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or Business Administration. Either Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree must be in Nursing.

Required License: Current RN licensure and BCLS required.

Required Certifications: National Nursing Leadership Certification is required within one year of accepting the role or by a signed commitment letter.

Required Experience: Eight years of progressive leadership including clinical and surgical services. Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, Internet and Intranet software, and e-mail.

Preferred Experience: 10 years of progressive leadership experience; experience in performance improvement, facilities planning and construction projects, and financial analysis.
