We are currently seeking qualified candidates for an Associate Producer position that will be based in our Mission and Strategy department. This position is based at our corporate office in Altamonte Springs, FL.

This position provides the opportunity to be an essential member of the production team for the pilot season of "House Call" (Working Title) TV program. The program initiative is cooperation between HOPE CHANNEL, INC, & ADVENTIST HEALTH SYSTEM, INC. The AP reports to the Program Manager in all aspects of pre-production, production and post-production, this includes assisting with the management of logistics for guests (story packages) and the physician specialist of each show episode assigned. The AP will be responsible for the research and development (R&D) of story packages (length between 3-5 minutes), as well as writing the script outline for each (28.5 minute) show/episode assigned: collaborating and delegating to the two Production Office Coordinators (POCs) tasks simultaneously, under high-pressure situations

Specific job duties include:
  • Serves under the Program Manager to drive each television show (episode) assigned. It is a supervisory position managing two Production Office Coordinators (POCs).
  • Assists producers in maintaining production calendar and call sheets with each episode/s assigned, which includes communicating expectations, deliverables and assisting in managing interview film dates.
  • Research and development (R&D) of selected interviewees; vetting all potential stories through approved legal process.
  • Prepares all necessary approved release forms for each interviewee, which includes ensuring that requested changes are vetted by HC/AHS legal. Uses HC internal production databases (Wiki) to document/journalize and track biographical information of each candidate's story, including all pertinent personal information legally allowable with release forms executed.
  • Drafts/writes scripts for each episode assigned, submitting drafts to Program Manager for final approval.
  • Journalizes all activity in the electronic episode program software (Wiki); tracking interviewee status (recommending, priority and current status of show package); supporting production staff in documenting and communicating all production workflows and best practices, as assigned.
  • Reviews with the POCs that all locations, vendors, and interviewees are booked, and confirm logistics for filming/recording on all locations (AHS facilities, physician offices, patient homes or offices etc.).
  • Assists the POCs in coordinating and dispatching film crews to film story packages as approved by Program Manager for each episode(s).
  • Collaborates with POCs to prepare invitations and other relevant correspondence for each episode(s) assigned, travel for staff, crew and talent/guests.
  • Liaises with Post Production Supervisor (HC) on any computer graphic and lower third requirements for episode(s) assigned.
  • Coordinate any post-interview communications with interviewees, finalizing any additional approval process and potential acquisitions, which arise during production.
  • Follows Po s t Production Supervisor & Editors (HC) workflows to ensure timely delivery of post-production deliverables, including coordinating creation and upload of each edited story package master for producer's review, finalizing program for broadcast, archival and video-on-demand.
  • Oversees and assists with coordinating transcription, translation and subtitling with editors, interns or outside vendors.
  • Coordinates with POCs and schedules meetings with the existing and expanding AHS network of employees, scholars, researchers, interviewers and partners. Also, locking-in, when applicable to the show/episode, the individual's participation in the live scheduled taping in the studio.
  • Requests the POCs to order departmental supplies that are needed, including the ordering of food and beverages for interview shoots (as well as any specific craft services required/requested) for the guests in the "Green Room" during the studio shoot.
  • Notifies producers with potential expenses that may occur outside of original budget, for the episode(s) assigned.
  • Communicates with interviewees and crews to confirm project details and logistics; tracking & finalizing that all show details are documented into the production show software (Rundown Creator) in preparation for the live taping of the episode(s) assigned.
  • Attends production meetings as scheduled.
  • Participates in the review and evaluation of HC and AHS production to insure harmony with both entities' policies and broadcast protocols.
  • Availability to work nights/weekends as needed (during live taping of episodes).

Experience Requirements:
  • 2+ years of writing experience in the entertainment industry or documentary film production required
  • Experience in coordinating multiple simultaneous video production and post-production projects preferred
  • Experience or interest in oral history methodology preferred


Educational Requirements:
  • B.A. Degree in English, Communications or Film Production required



Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Superior communication skills (both written and verbal) required
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with demonstrated initiative to complete projects within deadlines required
  • Proficiency working in Microsoft Office and Cloud software required
  • In-depth knowledge of video recording technologies, digital file formats, codecs and methods of delivery required
  • Knowledge of TV programming and film production organization/workflows preferred
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and take creative direction preferred
  • Basic knowledge of cinema history, as well as a specific interest in the history of storytelling via filmmaking preferred
