What is now WhiteStone: A Masonic & Eastern Star Community began more than 100 years ago as The Masonic & Eastern Star Home of North Carolina. Originally purposed to provide a higher quality care for fraternal members than found in state-run senior housing, MESH as it was called has superior quality at its core. Today our community is open to everyone, but still carries those strong fraternal values that promote friendship, community and quality care for one another.

We have grown into a leading Continuing Care Retirement Community in North Carolina. We are proud to be a non-profit CCRC managed by Life Care Services and governed by a Board of Directors made up of Masonic and Eastern Star members. FAQ: 

What is the process once I have applied?
We will review all applications within ~2 weeks. Applicants whose resumes meet WhiteStone's needs and standards, will be contacted for a brief phone interview. Applicants who may be a good fit of our community will meet with our on-campus recruiter for a 30 minute interview. Selected applicants who may be a good fit for our community, will have a second interview with their Department Director/Managers. This may occur the same day as the initial interview or in the following week, depending on the scheduling. References will be collected. Applicants who are receiving a job offer will be contacted. If the offer is accepted, you will meet with Human Resources to complete hiring paperwork and you will be scheduled for Orientation.
I don't drive. Is WhiteStone located on a bus line?
Yes, we have a number of bus stops near our facility through both GTA and HEAT. The closest stop to our main entrance at 700 S. Holden Rd. is at Holden/Spring Garden corner stop. Our employee entrance can also be conveniently accessed from the Spring Garden/Coapman St. stop - just half a block's walk.
Do you require a background check and drug screen?
Yes, all employees must undergo a background check and drug screen before being hired.
