Job Description To achieve monthly and annual production goals by selling ballrooms, event space, food and beverage and event rentals ensuring that value paid is value received, not only in product, but in service and in ambiance. Freesell for this position is one of two ballrooms every weekend one year out! Responsibilities Solicitation and direct-selling in the local Wedding/Social, Military, Education, Religious, Fraternal, Association and Non-Profit Catering market and maintaining existing accounts and referral networks. Conduct property site tours, participate in assigned tradeshows, industry and community events, and facilitate sales presentations to prospective customers to solicit, negotiate, and secure catering business for the hotel. Event Planning, coordinating logistics of outside services and selling of hotel food and beverage within the guidelines of the hotel. Communication of event arrangements to all responsible hotel departments through banquet event orders and event resumes. Executing proposals, contracts and addendums with customers. Effectively negotiate F&B minimums, F&B pricing and outside catering packages to keep events highly profitable. Minimize concessions and discounting. Coordinate Catering support/outside services (flowers, entertainment, decoration, A/V, etc.) to provide complete client satisfaction. Be present on-site at each event to ensure proper event setup and successful execution of events. Maximize revenues for the hotel through up-selling techniques. Use feedback from Group Medallia Meeting Planner Evaluations to improve service quality. Collaborate with DOC-CS on creating action plans to improve scores. Collaborate with DOC-CS on weekly and monthly forecasting procedures Other duties as assigned by Director of Catering. Qualifications College degree preferred. Minimum of 1 year hotel sales/catering experience and/or successful completion of Omni LID program. Knowledge of the operations of the hotel industry. Dynamic, enthusiastic, creative leader who thrives under pressure and is able to perform multiple functions and troubleshoot when needed. Account planning skills - Management of the customer decision and relationship process. Financial analysis skills - has the ability to tie strategies and planned actions to results. Command of the English language both written and verbal, with the ability to demonstrate warmth and empathy when engaging with others. Must have proven selling, negotiating and presentation skills. Requires knowledge of advanced sales techniques. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and troubleshoot when needed. Highly developed customer service skills with strong attention to detail. Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook. FDC experience preferred. The ability to delegate, effectively train and coach catering coordinator. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team oriented environment and ensure excellent internal and external customer service satisfaction .
