Posting Job Description As a member of EBIS group, the Sr. Engineer, Software (ETL) will be responsible for work in the following areas to support the complete Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) for Technology Operations and Media Sales business functions:
. Lead requirements gathering and analysis sessions with business/end users
. Lead information technology projects and systems design and development, determine technical and logistical requirements interface with technical staff to determine project requirements and deadlines
. Lead technical design & development of the data model, supporting table structure for OLAP and OLTP data needs, stored procedures, API's and other data interfaces for web presentment and reporting
. Lead the technical design and development of standardized data interfaces for web presentment and reporting
. Address and resolve user questions involving data, tool usage, and reporting
. Expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve data flows
. Provide user training on tool usage and reporting
. Monitor production processing results, establish alerts and SLA's and troubleshoot/resolve failures
. Provide weekly status reports to team manager
. Support cross-functional teams in successful delivery of projects in the area of Mediation and Rating
. Assist other team members in support of existing solutions, size environments and recommend the needed HW, SW requirements
. Primary business areas of responsibility will be for Usage Management and Revenue Management applications
. Use object-oriented programming/ETL, as well as client and server applications development processes, multimedia and Internet technology to deliver the solutions
Job Requirements:
. 5 - 8 years experience BI reporting and analysis, data modeling, database design and development
. 5 - 8 years experience in Informatica ETL development tools
. 5 - 8 years experience UNIX shell scripting
. 3 - 5 years experience developing BI Cubes and Reporting Solutions
. Must have good skills in data analysis, problem solving, oral and written communication
. Must have data modeling and BI modeling experience
. Must have ability to work on multiple projects in a fast paced environment
. Must be able to lead projects with minimal supervision
. Must be able to train others in tools usage
. Experience Enterprise Scale Data Warehouses and Data Marts
. Experience working with cable and telecom billing systems such as ICOMS and CSG is a plus
. Experience with Cable Network Operations, Usage Monitoring, Rating & Mediation, and Media Sales business processes is a plus
Preferred:
. Technical depth and development experience with the FusionWorks Platform from Openet
. Technical exposure to columnar databases such as Vertica, Sensage, SAND
. Technical exposure to data appliances from Netezza, Teradata, Oracle
. Technical exposure to Cognos 8 Suite, Oracle 9/10, Informatica (PowerCenter, IDE, IDQ)
. Java, ASP, HTML, VB, WINDOWS NT 98 & 2000, SQL Server, C, C++, Linux, Unix, XML, DHTML, XHTML, MS Access a plus
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
