Job Description
PURPOSE:
Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through assignment of project personnel.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
Construct project flow chart documents for requested projects.
Reviews project proposal or plan to make initial assessment of project viability.
Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
Confers with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
Analyzes technology trends and market demand to plan projects
Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
Directs activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures.
Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.
Confers with project staff to outline workplan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
Confers with project personnel to provide/receive technical advice and to resolve problems
Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
Resolves problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts.
Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.
Interfaces with customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met

AUTHORITY:
Is responsible for the overall management, direction, and coordination of Project Team and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Personnel of all areas. Managers of all internal departments. Outsourced contractors providing a service to the project team. Current and potential customers.

PROFILE:
Education:
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university with a preferred technical background in mechanical, manufacturing, and or
process engineering.



Experience:
Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Abilities:
Computer Skills - Knowledge of database, design, development, spreadsheet, and word processing software.

Language Skills - Ability to read, write, and interpret reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Mathematical Skills - Develops and maintain organizational budget. Develop and implement cost saving measures Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and efficiency rates. Ability to apply concepts such as percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Problem Solving - Gathers and analyze information and develop alternative solutions. Ability to solve problems with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exist.

Analytical Skills - Collects and researches data; combines complex or diverse information; uses solid decision making tools and experience to complement data. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Professionalism - Works with integrity and ethically. Approaches others in a tactful manner. Reacts well under pressure. Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.
