September Meeting Since TVHRA is hosting the 2010 HR Conference - the September meeting will be at the conference. We will NOT meet at Rothchilds on Tuesday, September 14. The October meeting will be back to our regular schedule at Rothchilds.
Member meeting costs are $18.00. NON Member [guests] $25.00. We welcome guests to our meetings and encourage you to join TVHRA. New Member information is located at the Membership Center.
The buffet dinner is served at 5:30. We understand that some of you may not be able to be at Rothchilds by 5:30 but since we serve a buffet you will still be served at 6:00. We will begin our business meeting at 5:45.

Adults With Disabilities Find Employment
A recent Oak Ridger article highlighted the value of employing persons with disabilities. These employment relationships benefit employees by helping instill a sense of self-esteem while keeping them in touch with the community and helping them support themselves financially. Employers benefit by having eager, dependable workers. There are also work opportunity tax credits available and the workers are supported during training. TVHRA CAREER CENTER - The purpose of the TVHRA Career Center is to provide support, motivation and mentoring to area human resource professionals who are seeking a career transition, conducting a job search or seeking career development. Study Group The next study group is scheduled to begin on September 13 and will end on November 29, 2010. If you are a TVHRA member cost is $100. To qualify for the member price you must be a member in good standing at the time you register for the study group. Cost is $145 for non-members. Two study kits are available for purchase.
The requirements to take the exams will change effective for the Spring test dates in 2011. These changes should be reviewed prior to the start of the TVHRA study group - some individuals may not be eligible due to these changes. More details on the Certification page.
Winter test dates are December 1, 2010 to January 31, 2011. Regular date is October 8, 2010 and the late test date on November 12, 2010. Contact Curt Hall for more information.
