Job Requirements:
Relevant Experience (Yrs):
6 to 8+ Years in database environment.
3 - 4 years as an Oracle or SQL Server DBA
2-3 years as a Netezza DBA, nice to have (will consider strong DBA skills in other RDBMSs)
Technical/Functional Skills:
Must have experience with developing code and troubleshooting ANSI SQL
Data Base Design skills required
Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work with technical counterparts
Up-to-date with latest Netezza release features and functions - nice to have
Experience Required:
Must possess solid background in Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing
Must have experience in large multi terabyte DW environments
Full BI/DW solution architecture experience
Ability to work independently and within the architecture team
Experience in performance troubleshooting, SQL optimization, and benchmarking
Extremely strong SQL and database experience
Extremely strong dimensional data modeling experience
Full life cycle experience (requirements gathering * through production deployment)
Strong UNIX, shell scripting, and *vi* skills
Strong hands-on experience in tuning RDBMS platforms (SQL, system, host)
Roles & Responsibilities :
Day-to-Day Interaction with various technical teams

Posting Job Description The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks an Analyst, Quality Assurance for the EIM (Enterprise Information Management) Data Warehouse and BI initiatives in the TSG Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Position Summary
A dedicated QA Analyst to support all quality assurance related activities of end-to-end BI solution.
Essential Job Functions:
. Create test strategies at the outset of initiatives/enhancement projects
. Develop test plans, test cases and SQL test scripts for all necessary projects and application releases which cover data movement from the source systems, through the ETL processes to the end-user applications and presentation layers
. Create and modify Unix and Perl scripts for automation and integration testing
. Perform execution of test cases and scripts, creation of department documentation and defect tracking
. Actively participate in design, data model and code reviews
. Perform in-depth data validation and analysis using complex SQL code and Informatica mappings
. Perform in-depth analysis and testing of ELT PL/SQL scripts
. Review and approve key deliverables produced as part of the analysis and design phases of any project (ex. functional requirements, technical requirements, ETL design documents, report layouts, etc.)
. Review test cases (functional testing, integration testing, business logic testing, regression testing) for all enhancements and production defects
. Regular reporting on QA status of on-going and planned initiatives
Job Requirements:
. Experience creating/managing test plans for large efforts, ability to design and develop test cases and experience with automated or manual software testing processes/tools
. Experience in the implementation and support of complex, mission critical data warehouse applications while ensuring that adequate testing is completed within committed timeframes
. Excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to work as a member of a project team in a fast-paced environment
. Self directed and demonstrated strong leadership, ownership and coordination skills
. Ability to design and develop test plans, scenarios and steps
. Experience interpreting source to target mappings
. 5+ years of experience with software quality assurance experience and 3+ years of experience with testing in a data warehouse and enterprise reporting environment
. Demonstrated experience in an ETL focus data warehouse test role on previous projects
. 5+ years of experience with data validation and analysis
. 5+ years of experience with Oracle
. 5+ years of experience with UNIX and shell script development
. 2+ years of experience with Perl
. 3+ years of experience with ETL tools such as Informatica
. 5+ years of data warehousing knowledge, business intelligence and technical experience
. 5+ years of experience developing complex SQL queries to validate data
. 2+ years of experience developing PL/SQL
Preferred Qualifications:
. ICOMS and CSG billing system knowledge
. Experience with Affinium, Cognos, and Netezza
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience. |
