ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: . Prepares and delivers multiple daily television and web weathercasts demonstrating a detailed knowledge of meteorology and regional geography, as well as on-camera poise, professional appearance and voice quality combining for a presentation that is authoritative, credible, and conversational. . Must be able to ad-lib as needed and handle on-air problems during extensive segments of continuous severe weather coverage. Must be capable of gathering and analyzing detailed meteorological data in order to generate timely, accurate forecasts which meet standards established by the Chief Meteorologists, News Director and VP/GM. . Aggressively covers breaking weather events and stories, such as severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes and snow or ice storms. Thoroughly understands, operates and utilizes computer graphics system to present weather information that is interesting, reliable and easy for the viewer to understand. . Generate and develop weather story ideas. . Makes public appearances at the guidance of the News Director and Marketing department. . Performs other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: . Strong on-camera communication skills. . Ability to work under time and deadline pressure. . Excellent computer skills and experience with weather graphics systems. . Extensive knowledge of meteorology, geography, weather forecasting and severe storm tracking techniques. . Willingness to work variety of shifts and demonstrate flexibility in scheduling. . Must have valid NC drivers license and a good driving record. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Sales Management . Develop and ensure great execution of a direct sales strategy while providing direction to regional Direct Sales Operation. .
