Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position. Essential Job Functions: Time Warner Cable is looking for an exceptionally well qualified Sr. Lab Engineer to support the day to day activities in our complex engineering lab. The Sr. Lab Engineer role within the Advanced Technology Group will work closely with internal Engineering and Development teams as well as outside vendors to successfully integrate, manage, maintain and test all components of a Motorola Digital Head End. This position is critical to the success of multiple groups and teams that utilize the ATG Lab. May also lead and direct the work of others. Job Requirements: Ability to maintain the lab infrastructure related to the Motorola head-end equipment including DAC, Billing, VoD, OCAP and Switched Digital Video (SDV). Duties include support, test, troubleshooting, and configuration of head end equipment. Responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of multiple RF plants including the trunk and distribution system. Perform routine maintenance and repairs while providing technical support for the resolution of service related problems. . Cisco DNCS experience preferred. . DOCSIS 2.0 or later experience/knowledge is preferred . Red Hat Linux administration, installation and configuration experience/knowledge is preferred. . Above average networking skills . Experience with Ads insertion environments a plus . Ability to work effectively in a team environment . Self motivated and ability to work independently using his/her own initiative and judgment . Willingness to adapt quickly to changing situations . Excellent written and oral communications skills . Effective problem solving and troubleshooting skills . Ability to manage priorities and time in a fast pace work environment Preferred Qualifications: CCNA RHCE Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience. Working knowledge of a Problem Tracking and Reporting software such as Remedy. 3-5 years experience working with Microsoft Office products in particular Outlook, Excel and Word is required. Working knowledge of Robot Job Scheduler in a Operator or Scheduler capacity.
