The IT Audit Consultant will serve as a member of the IT Audit Services group of Duke Energy, located in Charlotte, NC.
It is anticipated that travel could be up to 25% annually.

Work within a team environment to execute audit projects within prescribed time budgets and at a high degree of quality.
Ensure high quality audit results and well-crafted audit report deliverables.
Assist in the development of both short-term and long-term audit plans in the IT audit group through risk assessment activities.
Build and maintain effective client relationships.
Maintain current knowledge of matters impacting IT, the energy industry, audit and the company.

Basic Qualifications
*
4-year degree in computer science, business, finance, or other applicable field.

1 or more years of relevant audit work experience.

Varied IT experience including areas such as mainframe (MVS), PC/LAN (Windows NT or Windows 2000), client / server, web-based systems, application development, interfaces, databases, data security, e-business, project management, etc.
*
Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers.
*
Ability to develop and incorporate new technologies in the audit process.
*
Ability to apply auditing protocols.
*
Ability to understand global context/responsibilities of the audit function.
Desired Qualifications

Job Description
Plan, design, test, implement and continued improvement of enterprise network solutions.
Configuration of Cisco IOS configurations, testing and implementation of new network hardware devices (routers, firewalls, switches.) into the existing network infrastructure.
Proactively manage the corporate network. Responsible for the maintenance and support of network hardware devices across the entire network.
Provide audit statistics and participate in the capacity planning process.
Maintain accurate diagrams and configurations for all network devices.
Prepare engineering job packages consisting of detailed parts / equipment lists, and appropriate documentation (drawings, network diagrams, configurations, etc.).
Ensure life-cycle cost effective design of systems with the ultimate goal of meeting business needs and providing a reliable and efficient service to the user.
Prepare and submit cost estimates for planned installations where required.
Maintain familiarity with current networking technologies and available facilities.
Procure, turn-up, and troubleshoot both private and public WAN circuits.
Work across the IT organization to provide end to end solutions to the customer.

Basic Qualifications

Job Summary

* Assist in the input, review and adjustment of items required to calculate tax depreciation and associated deferred taxes
* Assist with the preparation and/or calculation of Asset related Schedule M book versus tax basis adjustments.
* Prepare, analyze and review federal and state income tax accounting and regulatory reporting across multiple regulatory and non-regulatory legal entities.
* Provide information for budgets and forecast models and review related reports.
* Analyze and reconcile income tax accounts while identifying, and evaluating the justification for any variances.
* Remain current with and analyze new accounting and tax developments that are legislatively proposed, enacted, or newly applicable to the organization.
* Support and work closely with the tax compliance staff to ensure consistency in tax return and tax accounting presentations.
* Assist with special projects and requests as required.
