Teach academics in accordance w/Tennessee Dept of Ed; develop MTP and IEP for each qualifying resident who attends the in-house school; complete academic and behavioral evaluations on students; develop lesson plans; prepare instructional materials; meet w/parents/guardians as required; behavioral programming; take residents on field trips; write discharge reports and academic credit sheets; make referrals to next program level; responsible for cleanliness of classrooms; attend faculty meetings; meet with other agency workers concerning students; enforce program rules; utilize Therapeutic Crisis Intervention; maintain regular and predictable job attendance; work cooperatively with coworkers and residents; other duties as assigned; QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree; current Tennessee Teaching Certificate in special, elementary or secondary education; current Tennessee driver's license with ability to add "F" endorsement; motor vehicle check with no more than two driving violations. QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: 5 years teaching and/or mental health related experience; other duties as assigned.
