Child & Family Tennessee has an exciting opportunity for a Special Education Teacher. Responsibilities include: teaching academics in accordance w/Tennessee Dept of Ed; developing MTP and IEP for each qualifying resident who attend the in-house school; completing academic and behavioral evaluations on students; developing lesson plans and preparing instructional materials; meeting with parents/guardians as required; behavioral programming; taking residents on field trips; writing discharge reports and academic credit sheets; making referrals to next program level; attending faculty meetings; meeting with other agency workers concerning students; enforcing program rules; utilizing Therapeutic Crisis Intervention; maintaining regular and predictable job attendance; and, other duties as assigned.
A Bachelor's Degree, current Tennessee Teaching Certificate in special education, K-12 or 6-12 and a current Tennessee driver's license with ability to add "F" endorsement is required. 5 years teaching and/or mental health related experience is preferred.
